1. Eligibility and account
You may use Pawivo if you are at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract in your country of residence. You must provide accurate sign-in information and keep the credentials confidential. You are responsible for everything done through your account. If you use Pawivo on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for safely operating your phone - do not record walks while driving, cycling, or in any way that puts you, your dog, or others at risk.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the dog profiles, weights, reminders, and notes you enter, and for the consequences of acting on them.
- You are responsible for keeping your device and your account credentials secure; tell us as soon as possible if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Information that affects your dog's health - including medication dosages, dietary changes, or treatment schedules - must be confirmed with a qualified veterinarian.
3. Acceptable use
When using Pawivo you agree not to:
- Use the service in a way that breaks any applicable law, including data protection or animal welfare laws.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Disrupt or interfere with the service, the backend, or other users - for example by sending excessive requests, by uploading malicious content, or by attempting to access accounts that are not yours.
- Use Pawivo to harass, harm, or impersonate another person, or to upload content that infringes the rights of a third party.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service or any data obtained from it without our prior written consent.
4. Your content and licence to us
You keep ownership of the content you create in Pawivo - including dog profiles, photos, walk traces, weight entries, planner items, and notes. By using the service you grant Breaking Byte a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process this content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you (for example to draw your route, compute statistics, deliver reminders, and synchronise across your devices). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups that may persist for a short technical retention period.
See the Privacy Policy for how we handle and retain your data.
5. Our intellectual property
The Pawivo name, logo, mobile app, website, and the underlying software are owned by Breaking Byte and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. No other rights are granted.
6. Price and future changes
Pawivo is currently offered free of charge. We may, in the future, introduce paid features or paid plans. We will not start charging you for a feature you are already using without giving you clear advance notice and the chance to decline. The Google Play Store may apply its own fees if paid features are introduced.
7. Availability and modifications
We do our best to keep Pawivo available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or fully accurate service. Features may be added, changed, suspended, or removed - particularly during beta. We may need to interrupt the service for maintenance, security reasons, or to comply with the law. Where reasonable, we will notify you in advance.
8. Third-party services
Pawivo relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase, Mapbox, (optionally) Google sign-in, and a phone-number verification provider for SMS one-time codes. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
9. Disclaimers
- Pawivo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, except those that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
- GPS distance, pace, elevation, and calorie estimates depend on phone hardware, signal quality, and the data you enter. They are approximate and must not be relied on as exact measurements.
- Reminders rely on the operating system and on push delivery; we cannot guarantee that a reminder will be displayed at the exact scheduled moment.
- Pawivo does not provide medical, veterinary, or nutritional advice; always consult a qualified professional for matters affecting your dog's health.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Breaking Byte is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, savings, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of Pawivo. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory law - in particular liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the EU consumer protection rules that apply to you.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Pawivo at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing contact@pawivo.app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continuing to provide the service to you would put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to fix the issue before termination.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Disputes will be resolved by the courts competent for our registered office, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country. As a consumer in the European Union you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the service changes, when the law changes, or when we add new features. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. We will notify you of material changes inside the app or by email before they take effect, so that you can review them and decide whether to keep using the service.
14. Data deletion (right to be forgotten)
You can delete your account and all related personal data directly from the app: Help → Account data → Delete account. After confirmation, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion in 30 days; signing back in within those 30 days cancels the deletion. If you have lost access to the app, you can also request deletion by writing to contact@pawivo.app from the email address linked to your account. Full instructions are in the Data deletion section of the Privacy Policy. We will erase your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to keep specific records (for example tax-related information for paid services, if any).
15. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms or about the service, write to contact@pawivo.app.
